Began the Tenor Sax and Guitar at age 9. Studied privately on Guitar. Middletown High School Class of ’72. Studied under William Stiehl as student conductor. Southwest Ohio Regional Symphony, Honor Band, Solo and Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band, Symphonic Band. Studied Voice for three years with Helen Ramsdell. Founding member of the Southwestern Ohio Symponic Band. Rehearsed and performed with the Miami University Symphony while in H.S. under Dr. Seltzer. Performed with Sounds Of America Show Big Band under William Svarda and began professional performance career while in H.S. Studied Saxophone and Flute with Ray Brandoff at Miami U. Attended University Of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. studied Flute and Theory and Composition at Marin College, Marin County, California. Wrote and recorded TV and radio comercials for Levi Strauss, San Francisco and played studio sideman gigs for Roy Chin’s studio, S.F. Cal. Sang and played with the Fairfax Street Choir, Fairfax, Cal. Studied Jazz Saxophone with the great Fred Lipsius (B.S.& T.). Through the mid 70s performed with the Crosstown Traffic Band in the Dayton, Ohio area this band toured estensively and preformed in conjunction with Ross Todd Productions which included performances with The Ohio Players, Rare Earth, Isacc Hayes, The Barkays, Overnight Low Productions and Sunn. Studied theory and improvisation and performed regularly with the great Bill Eisele. Studied further on Saxophone and Flute and Clarinet with Bob Carlisle and performed with Mr. Carlisle. Mr. Evans began offering private instruction in 1980 with Moeller Music Center and began conducting (countless productions) for Middletown Lyric Theatre, Hamilton Civic Theatre and Hamilton Rotary, as well as Hospice and other independent productions. Also conducted shows at Edgewood H.S., Madison H.S. and participated in the private music instruction program as woodwind instructor in the Springboro Schools. Mr. Evans is included on the Recommended Private Instructors lists of area schools.
